This course is aimed at exposing students to broad theories of design in terms of culture, symbolism, identity and expressions at historical and regional levels. At the end of this course the student will be able to apply contemporary architectural design principles and use the influence of such trends in the process of design.

Students will learn to plan and design various types of infrastructure and civil works such as: roads, storm water drainage, culverts and footbridges, water supply systems etc. in unplanned settlements of Tanzania.
